Financing Energy Efficiency

It can be a purchase or a renovation, but from the moment energy efficiency enters the conversation, the central question becomes, “How do I pay for this?” Fortunately, there are several loan programs in Colorado that can help prospective homebuyers finance the cost of energy efficient improvements or help reduce costs on a new home that is already energy efficient. These loan programs include a built in subsidy that greatly reduces the cost of the loan, making such home improvements affordable for most homeowners. So, if the house needs insulation, air sealing, furnace replacement, new windows, a hot water heater, or if “going solar” is part of the home buying or home improving plan, there are now solid options for providing the required funds.
