Our Advocacy efforts are predicated on meaningful Community Involvement, Investment in key organizations, trustworthy local real estate Information, and effective Influence on local public policy.

In fact members who give with their annual dues will not only be eligible for 12 drawings we will double the number entries for those investments.

CAR Supports Prohibition of Local Government Sprinkler Requirements 

After FCBR and many other local REALTOR Association in Colorado were successful in removing mandatory installation of fire sprinklers from the local adoption of 2009 Residential Building Code in the past couple of years a movement is afoot to see that extended to the entire state of Colorado via a proposed bill.   

Attorney General Announces Colorado Will Receive $204.6 Million in Foreclosure-Relief Funds Under Multistate Settlement 

Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced this week that Colorado has joined a $25 billion multistate settlement with the five largest national banks: Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Citi, and Ally, who account for 60 percent of the home loan servicing market, to end problematic business practices and to help distressed homeowners.

2012 REALTOR® Day at the Capitol: Homeownership Matters

The Fort Collins Board of REALTORS® & Colorado Association of REALTORS® would like to extend a thank you to all of those who attended REALTOR® Day at the Capitol on Thursday, February 3rd. A special thank you is extended to State Representative Tom Massey and Mark Snead for speaking at the lunch program. Also big thanks to Rep. Randy Fischer & Rep. John Kefalas for attending the Legislative Reception even under circumspect weather conditions.

Obama Adds Detail to His Refi Plan

President Barack Obama today released details of the mortgage refinance plan he introduced in his State of the Union speech last week. Among other things, the plan would expand existing federal refinance assistance to borrowers who don’t have a federally backed mortgage and takes steps to smooth borrowers’ mortgage modification efforts.
