Our Advocacy efforts are predicated on meaningful Community Involvement, Investment in key organizations, trustworthy local real estate Information, and effective Influence on local public policy.

CAR Releases Economic Impact of Real Estate 2011

CAR’s Issues Mobilization Committee commissioned an update to a report titled, The Economic Impact of Real Estate in Colorado, which was first published in 2005. Given the recent economic downturn, one might suppose a dramatic shift in real estate’s impact on Colorado’s economy and our region. However, the data for the Northern Front Range (Boulder, Weld and Larimer counties) has changed little since the first report six years ago.

House Passes Budget With Senior Homestead Exemption:

The House passed a state budget for FY 2012-2012 on a 64 to 1 vote. The budget features $7.5 billion in spending from the state's general fund — the largest single pot of money in the budget and the one over which lawmakers have the most discretion. General-fund spending for 2012-13would be about 6.5 percent more than what lawmakers approved for the 2011-12 fiscal year.

The current tax code encourages behaviors and actions that we, as Americans, believe are good for individuals, communities and the nation. We incentivize retirement savings, child rearing and, yes, homeownership.

Some say there's no evidence the mortgage interest deduction (MID) has an effect on homeownership rates; to those people I say, "Just look around you."

The Fort Collins Board of REALTORS® (FCBR) recently restructured the way we do business, allowing us to focus on delivering those services that most empower our members to be successful via three core service areas. Our Networking & Events along with our Education & Professionalism departments are self-evident in purpose and function. However, our third department, REALTOR® & Consumer Advocacy, may not be as well understood solely by name, but can be easily explained by 4 “I’s.”
