Our Advocacy efforts are predicated on meaningful Community Involvement, Investment in key organizations, trustworthy local real estate Information, and effective Influence on local public policy.

Thanks to FCBR's amazing Affiliate members we will be adding a monthly prize drawing to our RPAC iPad+ Campaign. Just like our end of year iPad+ Campaign, FCBR members will receive one entry for every $25 invested in RPAC during our current RPAC fundraising year that runs from *Oct. 1st through Sept. 30th but members can also increase your odds of winning by investing early. In fact members who give with their annual dues will not only be eligible for 12 drawings we will double the number entries for those investments. 

Announcements of winners will take place on the final Friday of each month via our website, News For You, and social media.

NAR President Participates in Obama Administration Conference on the Future of Housing Finance

NAR President Vicki Cox Golder participated in a HUD-Treasury Conference on the Future of Housing Finance held on September 27, 2010, in Cleveland, as a member of the panel titled "Housing Finance Reform and Broader Housing Policy Goals." She emphasized that "Homeownership Matters" and that there needs to be a government role in housing finance to assure that mortgages are available in all types of markets. She also strongly defended the 30 year fixed rate mortgage and the mortgage interest deduction.

Green Building Code Update

The Green Building Residential Technical Advisory Committee (R-TAC) has been meeting since last March. Lara Williams and James Mitchell also serve on this committee, and Todd Gilchrist is a member of the community-wide Citizen's Advisory Committee. The focus of our meetings has been to discuss what a green building code might look like, and how it could be implemented into the rest of the International Building Codes.
